Accessibility statement

Trysil Skishop wants everyone to be able to use skishop.no – including with a screen reader, magnification, keyboard or other assistive technology. This statement covers the public pages of skishop.no: the webshop, rental, ski service, information pages and checkout. It does not cover internal tools for staff and partners.

Goal

Our goal is for the website to meet WCAG 2.1 at level AA.

The Norwegian Equality and Anti-Discrimination Act and the regulations on universal design of ICT require web solutions aimed at the general public to be universally designed. Public bodies must publish their accessibility statement in the solution provided by the Norwegian Authority for Universal Design of ICT (Uutilsynet). For us as a private business such a statement is voluntary, and we publish it to be open about where we stand.

Status

The website partially meets WCAG 2.1 AA. The assessment was made by ourselves, not by an external auditor.

We use standard HTML elements for links, buttons and forms, provide a link to skip straight to the main content, set the language of each page and give icon buttons a text description. Below is what we know does not work well enough yet.

Known issues

  • The map of accommodation units

    The markers and zoom buttons can be used with a keyboard and have text names, but the map can only be moved with a mouse or by touch, and the map images themselves have no text description. The same information – name, area and number of people for each unit – is shown in the list on the same page.

  • PDF receipts and credit notes

    The PDF files are generated automatically and are not tagged for screen readers, so reading order and structure may be imprecise. The content of the order confirmation is also included as text in the email we send.

  • Card payment with Stripe

    Card payment takes place in an embedded payment window from Stripe. The accessibility of this window is controlled by Stripe and is outside our control. If you have trouble paying, contact us and we will find a solution.

  • Product images and supplier content

    Product images and texts partly come from our suppliers. Some images may lack a description that is more detailed than the product name.

  • External websites

    Some links lead to websites we do not operate, such as accommodation booking with the host, map services and partners. They are not covered by this statement.
